Chef Biography
Eric Deblonde was born in France in 1951, and went through the normal chef training and apprenticeships in France before moving to the United Kingdom in 1973, where he first worked at the Inn on the Park as chef de partie and saucier.
In 1976, he returned to the same hotel (renamed the Four Seasons) as sous chef in London, where he stayed for several years before departing again for greener pastures. In 1985 he returned to London’s Four Seasons as executive chef of their renovated Lane Restaurant. Great Chefs taped him there in 1999 for their Great Chefs of the World series to be broadcast on the Discovery Channel.
In 2015, Great Chefs reached out to him again and found him at the Sofitel Algiers Hamma Garden Hotel where he combines French Culinary Art with Algerian flavors in their three restaurants, including Brasserie DIFA.
